Duane Hixon
CEO
Originally from Carmel, Indiana, Duane moved to North Carolina in 2004. He graduated from Indiana University with a concentration in physics and personal finance. Prior to becoming the CEO at N2 Publishing, Duane spent five years as a district manager in Kansas City with a sales and marketing firm, and also spent time in the options pit at the Kansas City Board of Trade. Duane is responsible for the company's strategic direction. Quirk: Known to get too competitive when playing Settlers of Catan.
Earl Seals
President
Born and raised in the mountains of east Tennessee, Earl moved to Chicago in 1991 to attend college. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1995 with a concentration in world religions. Earl spent the next nine years as a division manager for an international marketing company. He became the president of N2 Publishing in 2004. Earl oversees the development, sales and training of all Area Directors. Quirk: Being Tennessee born, if Earl refers to you as 'shin-dig', it's meant as a compliment.
Christie Joyce
Creative Director
Christie hails from North Carolina and is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington. Christie is the staple of the N2 Design Department. Her work ethic drives her to pursue excellence in any work that has her name on it. She has done it all…from working in and managing the Ad Department, creating magazines and directories on a monthly basis, to managing the in-house printing and production at N2. Quirk: Will work long hours Monday-Thursday to support her Friday beach days.
Robb Hotchkiss
Creative Director
Originally from Ohio, this Buckeye is also a UNC-Wilmington graduate. It took some time to convince Robb to make the move to N2, and we're all glad he did. Working hand in hand with Christie to create our top of the line newsletters, Robb is continually pushing ideas to the next level, taking N2's publications to the forefront of the industry. Quirk: Believes in good and evil. There are Ohio State fans, and then there are those who are evil.
Erich Nickens
Advertising Director
Erich is also a North Carolina native and began his N2 career as an intern while still in college at UNC-Wilmington. Since then, Erich has molded and re-shaped the N2 Advertising Department by creating professional quality ads for clients such as AT&T, managing as many as four interns per semester, and working with our developers to design software which will move the Ad Department online in 2009. Quirk: Known to buy surfboards on a whim.
Becky Clapper
Lead Editor and National Opening Director
Becky moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania after graduating from Penn State as an English major. She is the greatest role player since Larry Bird…doing whatever it takes to help the team. Since joining the team in 2005 as a sales rep, she has worked in several different areas of the company, including mailing, editing and accounting. She now manages the corporate editors and heads up the opening process for new Area Directors. Quirk: If Becky doesn't laugh at your joke, you know it wasn't funny.
Candy Baker
Accountant
Heading up our Accounting Department is the person who had the toughest job at N2 in 2007…Candy Baker. Working with spreadsheets and reports for weeks on end, Candy oversaw the creation and implementation of N2's state of the art, custom built ERP program. Candy loves everything numbers, so much in fact that she has the uncanny ability to win most of the office sports pools, from the March Madness tournament to PGA golf. That is our only complaint with Candy. Quirk: Has an unhealthy love for Microsoft Excel.
Heidi Heigel
Director of Business Development
Ever notice how Michigan people point to their hand when they tell you where they are from? Well, that's Heidi. Heidi is one of those individuals who finds something in common with everyone she meets. That's what makes her exceptional at her job. A graduate of Central Michigan, Heidi is responsible for the staffing of new Area Directors, and directly manages the relationships between N2 and Universities across the nation. Anyone interested in becoming an Area Director with N2 will work with Heidi. Quirk: A sportsman's dream…she loves the outdoors and fishing.
