In my previous career, I worked for a promotions company as an Event Manager, planning and putting together large consumer shows. For the most part, this was what you would consider a full-time, 8-to-5 job. It was in January of 2015 that I took the leap of faith and decided to switch from full-time worker to entrepreneur.
I will say, it hasn't been the easiest thing I've ever done, but the freedom I've found means I will never once look back and regret becoming self-employed. I vividly remember standing in my previous boss's office, turning in my resignation, and hearing from him that I was "irresponsible" and "not prepared" to venture out on my own.
Ladies, I can tell you from experience, there is nothing more satisfying than proving an arrogant man wrong!
Not only do I more than triple what I made at my old job, but I have the freedom to work when it's convenient for me and as much as I need to live the lifestyle I want.
