Spotlight on Clean: Louden Goodpaster's LG Pressure Washing

In the heart of Cabell County, Louden Goodpaster emerges as a local success story, not only as an educator but also as the proud owner of LG Pressure Washing LLC. As the Sponsor Spotlight for Stroll Barboursville in March 2024, we delve into the journey of Louden Goodpaster and his business.

Local Roots and Family Ties: Born at Cabell Huntington Hospital and a lifelong resident of Cabell County, Louden's journey is a testament to his commitment to his community. He attended Milton Elementary and Middle School before graduating from Cabell Midland High School in 2011. Louden's family includes his parents, Kristal and Kevin Goodpaster, his girlfriend Kayla, and their one-year-old daughter, Remi.

Education and Career Path: After graduating from Cabell Midland, Louden pursued a Wellness Education Teaching Degree at Marshall University, earning accolades as the Related Arts Student Teacher of the Year. While working at Dick’s Sporting Goods for over 10 years, he successfully navigated his college journey. Louden, now a substitute teacher, has taken on long-term roles at Cabell Midland High School, Village of Barboursville Elementary, and Altizer Elementary School.

Founding LG Pressure Washing: In the summer of 2017, Louden decided to embark on a new venture—LG Pressure Washing LLC. “As a teacher with summers off, I saw an opportunity to keep busy and offer valuable services to the community,” Louden told Stroll Barboursville.

Unique Approach to Pressure Washing: What sets LG Pressure Washing apart is Louden's commitment to using a commercial-grade soft wash system. Louden explained, “I use a commercial grade soft wash system to clean all houses. I have a solution that I apply to the houses siding with low pressure to safely clean all the dirt, mold, and mildew off the siding. My machine only has 300 PSI but is 11 GPM. I use a lot of water but not a lot of pressure to get the houses clean. I can safely reach 2-3 stories from the ground using this technique without having to get on a ladder. With the system that I have I can clean house siding, roofs, vinyl fences, and brighten gutters.” Louden added, “I have another machine that is used for all flat work (concrete driveways, walkways, etc.) This machine is 3500 PSI & 8 GPM and I use a 28-inch surface cleaner to clean all my flat work. I pre-treat my house solution onto the concrete first before I run my surface cleaner over all the concrete. After I run my surface cleaner over all the concrete, I use the wand to rinse it and then apply my house wash solution again to post-treat the concrete to make it bright and pop.

Solo Operator and Coach: As a single owner/operator, Louden takes pride in being hands-on with his business. Beyond pressure washing, he brings his passion for wrestling into the community. Louden shared, “I wrestled all throughout school and my freshman year in college at West Virginia Tech before transferring to Marshall to finish my teaching degree. In 2016 I started coaching wrestling at Cabell Midland and continued to coach until the end of the 2023 season.
