Hello Bentwater!

We are excited about this year's Easter event at Park in The Meadows on Saturday, March 30th starting at 11:00 a.m. Besides the POA Easter Egg Hunt, the BCA is sponsoring a variety of activities including a petting zoo, face painters, a DJ, and plenty more. Bring the kids and grandkids and join us for this fun event!

Last month I touched on the project we have undertaken for improvements at the entrances. That project is now underway, and equipment has been ordered. Some of it will have been installed by the time you read this, and we are actively working on the various steps it will take for completion and implementation. Recall that I asked everyone to pare down their permanent guest lists. After some research, it was determined that there are 65 residents with 40 or more names on their permanent list! But it’s not just them. 922 residents have more than 10. That’s not going to work with the new system. First, your current permanent guest list will not transfer to the new system. That means you need to log in now and see what names will be entered after the cutover. Delete the ones that don’t have keys and an alarm code to your house, then make a note of those that remain who do. Only those will be allowed on your permanent list. If you want a food or grocery delivery, or a ride share, or anyone without the keys and alarm code, they will have to be cleared on an as-needed basis. Start now, before it’s too late. If you need help, give us a call.

Remember a couple of months ago when I talked about dogs being in our parks off-leash? Well, since then there has been an incident where someone’s off-leash dog attacked someone’s on-leash dog. Thankfully, the dog that was attacked wasn’t injured, but folks, this is serious business. We are putting up signs to further inform everyone of the rules but there are consequences for this irresponsibility—and I don’t just mean that it’s a violation of the governing documents. People and pets can get hurt or worse. Please use the fenced dog run areas at Bentwater Community Park to let your dog run. Do the right thing before something bad happens.

Finally, a word to parents of driving-aged kids. We are getting some complaints about teenage drivers speeding and running stop signs. Please have a conversation with your kids about driving safety.
