Coushatti Trace Chapter, NSDAR, started the new year with a meeting that welcomed new members and celebrated milestones of returning members. New members to the chapter from Bentwater include Lois Bilby and Leigh Billingsley who were warmly welcomed by 2nd Vice Regent Ginger Darnell and Regent Kay Pontious. During the meeting, attendees made Valentine's Treat Bags for the teachers and staff at Sam Houston Elementary School as a service activity.

 

Also during January, the chapter hosted a table at The Genealogy and Local History Library of the Montgomery County Library for county residents to better understand their past and learn about the various lineage societies and their purpose. Regent Kay Pontious, Vice Regent Jan Cook, and Project Patriot Chair Merilee Gordon from Bentwater served along with other members of the chapter in answering questions about the mission and opportunities to serve offered by the Coushatti Trace Chapter.
