As per tradition, the BLGA tournament season commenced with the “Chili Open” on January 13th. The Weiskopf course was full of lady golfers braving a chilly start to a sunny day with temperatures nicely topping 60 degrees in the afternoon. Everyone enjoyed the chili lunch immediately following play along with the first official BLGA meeting and Chili Open awards ceremony!

During the BLGA Chili Open meeting, Pam Calvert, BLGA President, announced those who recorded a 2023 Hole-In-One. Congratulations to Marilyn Dixon, Jodi Gunnerson, and Cindy Reeves! Each received a check for $793.33.

The 2024 play day chairs, Deb Rose and Christy Tatum, kicked off the play day season on Tuesday, January 30th. The rainy and cold weather finally cleared for a gorgeous 70-degree and fun-filled day on the Weiskopf course. While all golfers proved to be a little rusty after the course closings, fun was had by all with the game day challenge. Players with the top gross and net scores on the nine hardest Weiskopf holes were the winners. 

The BLGA has over 30 play days scheduled during the 2024 calendar year. Play days 

are on Tuesday mornings. A unique “game of the day” round is announced before play, and play rotates between the Miller and Weiskopf Courses.
